The resident or sponsor is responsible for the cost and purchase of clothing.
Laundry services are provide and are included in the per diem rate.
If a resident would like a television in his/her room, the Business Office will arrange connection of cablevision for the resident. Payment for cablevision is the responsibility of the resident or sponsor.
FURNITURE AND LINENS
The Nursing Home provides basic furnishings. These include bed, dresser, mirror, over bed table, shelves and closet. Thermal blankets and flannel sheets are also supplied as needed by the resident.
Large items of personal furnishings must be discouraged, due to space requirements for nursing care and housekeeping.
Residents are welcome to bring some small personal items to help make their room more home-like.
Hair care is provided by an outside agency for
both men and women.
The resident or sponsor is responsible
for these expenses.
Housekeeping will be provided for the residents’ rooms but each resident/sponsor is asked to help keep personal areas tidy and neat.
Incoming mail will be distributed to the residents by staff. Outgoing mail can be posted through our Business Office. Stamps are also available at our Bussiness Office.
For the comfort and safety of our residents, staff and visitors with allergies, Kiwanis Nursing Home is a scent-free building.
Please refrain from wearing any perfumes or scented lotions when visiting the nursing home. Any items brought to our residents should also be scent-free.
A resident may have a telephone in his/her room. Arrangements are to be made directly through the phone company with payment being the responsibility of the resident or sponsor.
Effective July 1, 2006, the Kiwanis Nursing Home is designated as a non-smoking facility.
